Is there a place for stereoscopic 3D in the Interactive Advertising sphere?

With Youtube recently releasing YouTube 3D “tags” there is bound to be a spurt in stereoscopic 3d videos. Other online video streaming sites are soon to follow. This will also no doubt be good in fulfilling the demand for 3D content that is in severe short supply, now that almost all big manufactures of LCD screens such as Sony, Panasonic etc committing to release 3D enabled displays.

Stereoscopic 3D itself has a unique, let’s call it “flavor” as an interactive medium… in that it is not traditionally interactive say as a game or webpage click is, but neither is it passive!

It is interactive in the sense that it engages the eyes, brains and can also trigger body reflexes (people duck down as things come out of screen, younger audiences reach out to “feel” objects floating in front of them). In a 3D movie, people’s senses interact with a nice scene that has depth – say that of a serene lake with flowers and leaves blowing in the wind. How about a glass of Beer floating out of a large LCD screen over the bartender at a nightclub!…Arguably a form of interactive advertising and engagement of the senses.

RealVision can rapidly produce such Interactive Advertising experiences that can be deployed on various platforms including YouTube 3D, Websites, and Flat panel displays in Malls.  With major Television networks soon to be broadcasting in 3D, there will be a demand for 3D advertising.

For an example, read how Tourism in Stereoscopic 3D can be used on a Website to engage an audience.
