It takes spirit to get things moving, and there is no doubt about it, that when it comes to bringing a dream alive, the risk takers, those with true entrepreneurial and innovation spirit running in them – where ROI isn’t the sole motivation… those people and organizations are sadly, located thousands of miles from where I am.

Film Festivals are evolving for the better:
It is very encouraging to see Film Festivals in Asia and the MiddleEast evolve into mature collaborative environments for the film fraternity, rather than just hot-spots for Celebrity spotting. The previous trend at regional film festivals was to boast bagging rights to strut a big name Hollywood star on the red-carpet.
AbuDhabi Film Festival 2012, broke this mould by offering a series of workshops, free of cost, to regional film makers and students of media and film institutions.

Everyone should applaud Fashion TV for pioneering and embracing Stereoscopic 3D in their mainstream programming. For those not in the know (and I only came to know about it a few days ago), FTV has a half hour block of its programming in Stereoscopic 3D. They use the default Frame Compatible 3D format so as to maintain compatibility with today’s HD broadcast signal.
